I’m Marisa, a mum to three children aged 4, 7 and 9 years old. I live in Lewes - the beautiful, historic county town of East Sussex. When I'm not researching quirky and adventurous days out to keep myself and my children entertained, I work as an Interior Stylist.

I fell in love with Sussex and moved to Lewes in 2018 with my partner and our three young children. I began keeping a list of places to visit and interesting annual events throughout the county - the best bluebell walks, small regional museums perfect for short attention spans, mud kitchens, child friendly walks, pumpkin patches, hidden woodland dens, and spots for a quick babyccino - all places to create lasting childhood memories. I'd update the list regularly and refer to it whenever I needed inspiration, reminding myself of places I hadn't visited in a while or seasonal events. Friends with children often asked for recommendations, and I'd happily share my list of local treasures. Some of the most valuable discoveries came through word of mouth, accidental detours down country lanes, or noticing handwritten flyers on village notice boards. After growing frustrated by scrolling through uninspiring websites for ideas, I recognised the need for a dedicated guide to local adventures and Little Sussex was born.
